Overview

What is Dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the skin, to restore lost volume and balance your features. Lips, cheeks, jawline, chin and under-eyes are assessed individually.

We work with your anatomy and keep results subtle. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved if ever needed, and we explain every risk before you decide.

Benefits

  • Restores lost volume
  • Defines lips, cheeks, jawline and chin
  • Softens hollows under the eyes
  • Results you see at once
  • Can be dissolved if needed

Is it right for you?

Often a good fit for

  • Thin or uneven lips
  • Flat cheeks or hollow under-eyes
  • A soft jawline or chin
  • Deep folds around the nose and mouth

We may advise waiting, or another option, with

  • Pregnancy or nursing
  • Active infection or cold sores in the area
  • Some autoimmune conditions
  • Known allergy to filler ingredients

Suitability is always confirmed in person, at your consultation.

How it works

  1. 01

    Assessment

We look at your face as a whole and agree a subtle plan.

  2. 02

    Numb

Numbing cream is used, and most fillers also contain anaesthetic.

  3. 03

    Inject

Filler is placed precisely with a fine needle or cannula.

  4. 04

    Shape

The area is gently shaped, and you check the result in the mirror.

Before and after

Before your visit

  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
  • Avoid blood-thinning painkillers for a few days, if your doctor agrees
  • Come without makeup where possible

Aftercare

  • Avoid pressing or massaging the area unless we advise it
  • Avoid makeup for a few hours
  • Avoid exercise, saunas and alcohol for 24 hours

Possible side effects

  • Swelling and bruising for a few days
  • Lumps that usually settle with time
  • Rarely, a blocked blood vessel, which needs urgent treatment: call us at once if you notice pain or skin colour changes

Every risk is explained before you decide. Results vary from person to person.
